Our London travel tips

Our store in Shoreditch is finally up and running, and we’re thrilled to have a bricks-and-mortar space in the British capital. London’s energy is second to none, with something new and exciting happening every day. This can be a bit overwhelming, especially to visitors, but luckily we’ve gathered a list of our favourite haunts so you can enjoy the city to its fullest. Whilst you’re in town, be sure to stop by our store at 29 Redchurch Street!

The Laslett

Step up your B&B game

There’s no shortage of stylish places to rest your head in London, but The Laslett is one of our favourites. Inspired by nuances of British design, the entire hotel feels like a home-away-from-home. This Notting Hill accommodation was voted the most outstanding new hotel in 2016 by the Independent Hotel Show Awards, and it’s easy to see why. The cosy rooms and tastefully designed interiors are welcoming and bright, and there is a small boutique right in the lobby. There’s almost no reason to leave!

Borough Market

One of London’s best food markets

Just a stone’s throw away from London Bridge, Borough Market has drawn hungry gourmands to its halls since the 13th century. Be prepared for a sensory overload: this architectural gem is packed with fragrant flowers, fresh produce in every imaginable colour and also an array of some of the city’s best street food. Be sure to come with an appetite, as the regularly changing vendors offer dishes from just about any cuisine you can think of.

Serpentine Galleries

The gallery in the park

Since its opening in 1970, the Serpentine Galleries are the go-to destination for cutting-edge contemporary art. The works of more than 2,000 artists have been exhibited over the years, ranging from up-and-coming stars to established greats, including the renowned environmental artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Right in the heart of Hyde Park, the gallery was once the site of a tea pavillion before transformed by the Arts Council of England. The original purpose was to provide young artists from the United Kingdom with a stage for their artwork, which it still serves today. Go shopping in Soho

The hustle and bustle of the city

As London’s premier entertainment district, there’s a reason that we chose Soho as the site for our first pop-up store. But there’s plenty more to see on its narrow streets, with world-class shopping and independently owned boutiques and restaurants everywhere you look. Its central location makes it a true melting pot and a gathering place for the makers and shakers of the city.

The Blind Pig

An award-winning bar in Soho

Another Soho haunt, this award-winning bar is tucked away right about the Michelin-starred Social Eating House. But don’t let that scare you off: the retro digs and tantalising libations served up here make it the perfect spot to kick off the evening – or end it with a nightcap.

Smokey Tails

London’s best BBQ

Our friend Seth Troxler is a veritable multitalent, trading in his turntables for a grill at his American-style barbeque joint Smokey Tails. The recipes have been passed down in his family for generations and the secret to each of the dishes is the signature BBQ sauce, originally perfected by his grandfather.

Lyle’s

Drinks and amazing British cuisine

For a more formal affair without being too stuffy, then Lyle’s is the place to go. This Shoreditch institution serves the best of British cuisine and local fare, and the daily changing menu draws in the crowds. The team is dedicated to promoting their farm-to-table approach. The restaurant occasionally hosts guest chefs from world-class restaurants to take over their kitchen: like Matt Abergel from Hong Kong’s iconic Yardbird, who stopped over in July.
