Future Horizons: Where We’re Travelling In 2025
Discover the destinations inspiring our community of travellers in the year ahead.
Over the past year, we had the pleasure of collaborating with inspiring trailblazers who share our passion for exploration, creativity and discovery. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re celebrating that same spirit by asking: where next? From the hazy foothills of the Himalayas to Cape Town’s sun-flooded city streets, we reached out to our community to discover the journeys they’re planning, and the destinations they’re dreaming of.

For 2025, the destination calling my name is Japan. The blend of rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture fascinates me. I’m particularly excited about experiencing the cherry blossom season and exploring both the traditional and modern aspects of cities like Kyoto and Tokyo. The food, art, and technology there are also incredibly appealing, making it a perfect place for creative inspiration.

I’m itching to go to Tibet. I’d love to visit the base of the Himalayas. I’m feeling the call of the mountains, the topography. I think we’re going to be looking eastward in 2025. And Paris, too: it’s always been such a staple for design, with a rich design history, that it now curates such a huge offering of vintage and collectors items you can’t find anywhere else. We’re thirsting for meaning, and for depth and connection, in the design world and Paris offers that.

I've never been a huge believer in the need for winter sun, but I've definitely started feeling the dire lack of vitamin D in recent years. I'm heading to Cape Town at the end of January, aka the bleakest stretch of winter where you start feeling like spring might never come. I'm staying in a beach villa with a bunch of friends who are out there for a working holiday – so it'll be surfing in the morning, laptops out in the daytime, drinks in the evening and safaris and hiking on the weekend. I promise not to be too smug about it on Instagram.

I would love to visit Mongolia in 2025. It's been on my bucket list for years. I am a sucker for dramatic landscapes, rugged mountains and untouched places – I’m hoping to find some of that there.
Lucas Oakeley, Journalist and Author
Vietnam is a country I’ve wanted to visit for years, and 2025 will be yet another year where I’ve got my heart set on exploring it. Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hue are all cities I’d love to dive into. Do I want to eat at Bún Chả Hương Liên because that’s where Anthony Bourdain and Barack Obama had a meal? Yes. But I’ve also heard the bún chả there is still some of the best you’ll find in Hanoi, and if that makes me a bad traveller, then sue me. Lucas’ debut novel, Nearly Departed, is out in 2025.
